FOUNDATION SYMBOL

The Foundation's symbol is the escutcheon or shield which is the focal point of the Australian coat of arms.

Within the shield is the badge of each Australian state, the whole surrounded by an ermine border representing the federation of the states.

Australia was founded by the union of the British Colonies which became States within the Australian nation.

The formation of Australia required the successful vote of all colonies to agree to be United as One Nation, under One flag.  The principle used in the promotion of the new nation was:

"One People. One Destiny. One Flag."

This call to a Nation has been incorporated into Foundation Australia's logo - but given recent divisive voices we have extended the slogan to include added "One Voice. One Government" as our founding logo.
